Paula Bruna's artistic research is born from the study of the conflict between a society based on economic growth and the limited nature of the medium that sustains it. Taking as reference concepts of ecology, sustainability and ecological economics, Paula is interested in the games of tension between society and the environment and the process of collapse in all its phases (from the instability of previous equilibrium to postcolapse scenario). In his installations he uses everyday elements to represent and investigate in the form of visual poetry these questions. In his latest projects, he investigates the formation of the Anthropocene story from a non-human point of view, in a more comprehensive ecosystem conception exercise.
He holds a degree in Environmental Sciences and a Master's Degree in Earth Ecology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. He has worked in ecology and climate change research and in environmental policies and sustainability. He is currently a PhD student in the PhD program of Advanced Studies in Artistic Productions at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona.
