The purpose of my work is to generate a reflection and sensitize the viewer about the sexist violence that affects women and men in our closest society. Specifically, my main topic of work is the sexual abuse of children and adolescents, since I myself suffered it.
Following the feminist motto "The personal is political" my creative processes are based on my own experience, extending them to the community, to other survivors, to give voice to all cases of abuse, to generate social change and to do justice. Very often it is this same research that leads me to see what are the materials and the right techniques to develop the final work. I like to use traditional techniques to take them beyond their historical purpose and reuse them as feminist political resistance.
I am between artivism and confessional art. For me to create is to tear my fears, traumas, my limitations ... Thus, my work is something very own, intimate and honest, that comes from my insides. How Louise Bourgeois wove in a handkerchief, me too: "I have been to hell and back."
