The work of art by Sol Prado focuses on the creation of fictions through the use of parodic and ironic procedures that seek to dismantle the perverse structures of the neoliberal paradigm. His collective research investigates neo-liberal subjectivity, debt as a productive engine and pathologies as a result of the impossibility of pausing. He considers that the re-updating of the mechanisms of fascism are expressed through a fine and cosmetic artillery of domestication whose ultimate goal is the privatization of the forces of common and thought.
His latest project "Endless Wainting Game" -which is currently working- was developed on the island of Leros, Greece, during 2017. Although this island is for many of a holiday destination, for to others it is configured as a maritime heterotopy, thus making it a place of perverse contrasts where tourists, refugees and mental patients coexist. The project asks about how western desire is generated through the consumption of pop culture, music and video games, and finally, how this desire is transformed into an object of discipline and a catalyst for mental illness.
He is currently working on making a documentary / fiction short film as a video game trailer in which "game" progress is made through decisions taken by "players". The range of options and the information presented in the project are generated from a series of interviews with refugees on the island where they described, in detail, all the options that are offered to them both by the system "Official" as for smugglers, depending on the origin and final destinations of the trip, the money available and their geopolitical situation. This "fiction" is created by means of an audiovisual record in the first person of the entire location in its original state, pushing the binomial fiction-reality to a constant state of tension. During the Hangar residence, the musical score and the final edition of the film will be produced.
